Delete your MaktabMate account
How to ask for your account to be deleted
In the app or on the website
- Sign in to MaktabMate.
- Open Settings, then My Account.
- Under Delete account, tap Delete, type DELETE and confirm.
Your request goes to your maktab, and you are emailed a confirmation.
If you cannot sign in
Email info@maktabmate.co.uk from the address your maktab holds for you, with the subject "Data Deletion Request" and the name of your maktab. You can also ask your maktab's office.
How long it takes
Your account is removed within 30 days. You can change your mind before then: sign in and tap Keep my account.
What is deleted
- Your login, so you can no longer sign in.
- Your name, email address and phone number on your account.
- Your notification settings and the devices registered for notifications.
What your maktab keeps
MaktabMate holds records on behalf of each maktab, and the maktab decides how long to keep them.
- Parents: your children stay enrolled, and the maktab keeps their records, such as attendance, progress and fees. To have a child's records removed, ask the maktab.
- Teachers and staff: the maktab keeps the registers and records you made, and your clock in records.
- Payment records may be kept for up to 6 years where the law requires it.
When a maktab closes its MaktabMate account, its data is deleted within 90 days.
If you run a maktab
To close your maktab's account and delete its data, email info@maktabmate.co.uk with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
